Tonight is the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century. A lunar eclipse is a representation of rebirth. When I heard that, all I could think about is a hermit crab, and how in order to survive they must lose their shell; their safe place. They must get out of their shell and build a new one. And how raw they are and uncomfortable and painful that can be while they wait for a new shell to grow and fit their body, their new self. In the end it’s supposed to be worth it because now they are stronger, having a shell to protect them.

That’s what I think of humans. How in life we have to go through things that are uncomfortable and strange. How you have to go through painful change in order to become the person you are now. And even if you are walking around raw and bruised, your new shell is waiting for you. You just have to find it.
