Sounds Of The Night in Apt A

It's dark, it's quiet now, and I listen. I am listening for that familiar but cataclysmic sound; the sound of the night. The sound that smashes all dreams; the sound that crumples all hopes; the sound of the unknown; the sound of the abyss. The color of the night, of the darkness, is around me. They are shades of black in the corners; and pale and sickly yellows on the glass panes and I listen for I know that the unknown is quietly awaiting it's glory. Suddenly my auditory senses makes gain with the circumferential darkness as a haunting sound reverberates around me from the apartment upstairs. No one knows who or what lurks up there. It lives in the darkness but it emerges at the cursed hour of the night. This is my demise in the night. I whisper it seems in hopes of saving the night from this accursed thing,

"Two pairs of eyes are watching me now, from the couch and the ledge by the window. Faerieland shines in those eyes. And I must leave you, for it's the witching hour and a full moon is rising. . . ."

The witching hour...the night is a beauty save for the cursed.

Looking Out The Window On A Snowy Night

Come hither darkness that brings forth the Raven

And thither your snowflakes, as I heed from nigh haven

Hemlock and Willow, Bayberry, Beech

Bear witness to fable this Raven may teach

She peers down at me while she perches up high

I sit at my post and look in her eye

Look closely, she whispers at this fallen flake

What do you see in this hour at stake?

What I espied was a beauty untold

The snowflake cascaded, so lucid, yet bold

I sit at my post and I conceive the unknown

Thy Raven's sound thought, nay longer alone.

The Scarred Stranger

'Twas a dark night

And a long flight

When I came upon the stranger

From whence I sensed the danger

Of this stranger with the scar

Who stirred within me a certain familiarity from afar

Albeit this maddening fear

My mind grappled to stare and wonder

About this stranger

Upon which he uttered

To beget my heart fluttered

"A monster I am," he says

Duly a curiosity in me heightened

I no longer was a frightened

Of what appeared a dreadful countenance at first glance

My mind peered in awe

At the monstrous flaw

Beyond the shadow of a doubt

Behold a face so devout

Of beauty and unsullied

The monster now was freed

And in it's abode was bestowed

The face of an angel and the heart abound of a God.
