Write like no one is reading
So everyone's heard of dance like no one is watching, same thing but with writing. You'll have to really pretend because everyone will read it. That's the challenge, write so free, so true, like no one will ever see it. Poetry, prose, or confessions..whatever you feel is what you should do.

Honesty, it's commendable

honestly it's tough, it's not dependable

If I spoke my truth, would my position be defendable?

(upend-able)

My words might write me off,

another expendable

I can't care now, they're all I've got

See I'm so sick of being judged

tired of being pushed

tired of being shoved

All the expectations keep excelling, yes the wolves are at my heels

I turn around to look they say they know just how i feel

but this is real

The pressure never drops it's all a joke

Pretending now it makes me choke

My bags already packed, now outta my mind

and on the road

now take a toke

Waking up is, off to work is, my home life is-- Well..

Tears fall, all around just like it's raining

Exchanging words with my fam, to understand

and know their hearts are breaking

Each one consumed by forces

that we cant control

We really need eachother but

we're so starved ourselves that

we don't have the means to feed eachother

And I cry for my mother

I still cry for my mother...

(And all the rest)

Don't get me wrong

I remember glorious times

the sun how it shines

how there was a time when time didnt fly

only me and the birds up in the blue skies

and when i heard God

not in the clouds

but right by my side, He

said i was beautiful

beyond words, and I make him smile...

(it's been awhile)

I'm sorry just a quick shot a truthfullness

go on and give me your ruthlessness

i think we all get used to this

we all get used to this

“Green Belly, Green Toes”

Together,

laughter-carried

mischief makers,

unconcerned,

crayola-skinned

play-do bakers.

Mama,

“Oh, no”

finger-shaker,

pink-pits-scrubbing

for-goodness saker.

Green belly, green toes,

purple fingers, redded clothes.

Ticklish,

sorry-saying

heart takers,

loved,

bubble-bursting

merry makers.

Whispers

Maddening, there’s too much sound

all around, all around

Whispers, they surround

Within, truths are found

In silent moments I can hear

but in the noise, again they drown

Let Her Learn Love

Lines define, we're told.

"Inside the lines," well

My child, you're 3 years old.

Hear me now

do not be sold.

Scribble, smudge, and sketch!

Your lines...make them Bold.
