I’m sitting here

In my comfy chair

Writing poetry

And contemplating

The meaning of life

And what I’m gonna

Fix for my Dad’s dinner.

Boy I don’t feel

Like cooking.

Dad can’t cook for

Himself anymore

So there is no choice.

I liked my

Life better when

I had choices.

We are students

of the Universe.

Our teachers

are those who have

come before.

Some call them

ghosts

or spirits.

No matter

the label,

pay well attention

to your intuition,

they are the whispers

of the wise.

I’m sure you

thought

I didn’t care.

I kept running,

afraid

to face the truth.

I kept telling

myself

you wouldn’t die.

Then you did.
