Goodbye and Hello

I glance out the window of the car, gazing at the people walking on the sidewalks. A fresh start. Something I never had before. When the car stopped, I paid the driver and stepped out with my luggage. A brand new place where no one knows me. Perfect. Away from all the toxicity in my past, away from all the demons that haunted me. A fresh start. I walk towards the building in front of me, opening the door, suddenly overwhelmed with a rush of vanilla scented candles. I step inside, making my way for the elevator.

I pressed the button. Floor 12. The ride was slow and I was anxious to get out already. When I did, I was faced with a hallway with a couple doors. I stepped in front of one, pulling out my key from my coat pocket. Room 1201. The door clicked, adn I was welcomed with the sight of an empty room. I smiled. Finally, something to call my own. Walking in, I prepared my items that I would use for the night and began unpacking everything.

I left a past filled with voices screaming at me. A place where the devil was inside of everyone. Now I enter a future that I control. A future that I won't let anyone take away from me. A fresh start. That sounds nice.

By the time I was done, the room was still pretty bare. The light gray walls were bare, but I didn't mind. It was the first time I had nothing reminding me of the past. It was a good thing. I decided, the walls will only be filled with simple paintings or pictures, memories would only bring back the past. I slowly walked towards the big window. Looking out, I smiled at the ant like people bustling on the streets. Sighing, I turn around and grab my computer.

When I opened my laptop, there was a knock on the door. I got up, confused as to who was knocking. I look out the peep hole and didn't recognize who was there. Opening the door, I was met with three smiling faces staring back at me. "Hello! Welcome to the floor, we're your new neighbors!" one of the girls yelled excitedly. I winced at her pitch. "We came to say hello!" she continued.

"Calm down," another girl laughed, petting the excited girl's back. "You're scaring the new neighbor."

"Nice to meet you, we hope you don't mind us coming in? Do you need any help?" the last girl asked.

I felt overwhelmed. They were all so nice. I smiled shyly back at them and welcomed them in. I guess new friends also come along with a new beginning.

marigolds

no matter how loud i cry

you won’t look back.

no matter how much i beg

you won’t even spare me a glance.

remember how we met?

when we were young?

didn’t know what the world had in store for us.

we were close weren’t we.

i should have known when i saw that yellow tint in your words.

but i turned my head

not once doubting you.

but you had no problem

with stomping through the field

of rainbow petals,

crushing without caring.

but i cared.

i watched as you destroyed my garden.

the one i blocked up with tall stone walls.

the one you broke the walls down to enter.

i watched you

only able to just watch

as you left nothing.

even now i can’t blame you.

but the feeling remains.

marigolds were always your favorite flower.

Memoria

Her eyes shine an electric blue.

Her smile brighter than a star.

Glittering gold locks gleam down her back.

Her boldness bigger than that of a lion, but her heart as kind as that of a puppy.

That is her life, how she is seen.

In daylight, that is, but not the evening.

Light strands turn to inky black.

Blue eyes revolve into a piercing red.

Lips turn down, glimmering with crimson smirks.

Tan skin pales to a paper white.

Her confidence increases, with every stride.

Her kindness decreases with the perilous night.

The once pleasant girl, walks straight down the alley.

Where those who walk, will be missed dearly.

Her story once told, will rise up from the ashes.

Her name will bring fear to people’s faces, her face will strike ice into their hearts.

She is the one who will bring humans down.

Into the black abyss of the memoryless.

White

Many think heaven,

Most believe it to be pure,

I see something else,

I see lies covering truth,

The walls of insanity
