Messy but put together. A complete paradox with a lot of feelings. A wild fairy fluttering through the lavender fields.

For you.

I'm grateful for life. I'm grateful for the little things that make life so meaningful. A wise man once said, "You don't love life itself, you love the little things that make it up." Or something like that. I'm grateful for the cups of caramel lattes that leave a bit of foam on your top lip and then I giggle at you as you pretend not to know what's so funny. I'm grateful for our morning cuddles while the alarm goes off for the fifth time. I'm grateful for the way you look at me. I'm grateful for the way your eyes glow in the sun; like pools of honey lit on fire. I'm grateful for your laughter that never ceases to light me up when I'm feeling weary.

My darling, I'm eternally grateful for you. For the love, the kisses, the laughter, the tears and everything in between. For there aren't enough words in the English language to describe the unquantifiable love I have for you.

Angel

He has eyes like pools of honey

a heart made of pure gold

a laugh that booms as loud as thunder

and a smile as wide as the ocean

He’s sweet and gentle,

but beguiling and ruggedly masculine

an ethereal angel, the purest and loveliest form of

the divine intervention

If Heaven Were a Taste

If heaven were to have a taste, it would be caramel coffee. Your lovers’ lips. Warm chocolate chip cookies. The first bite of crisp pumpkin pie.

It would be all of the things that make you roll your eyes to the back of your head and say “Oh my god.”

And you just can’t resist tasting it again.

Emotional Pain

I’ve been through a lot in my short twenty-one years on this earth. I’ve been fortunate enough to have never broken a bone or acquired any serious injuries that sought medical attention. But who do you go to when your heart is broken? When that lump forms in your throat and you blink back hot tears while all the fond memories of him play in your head like a broken record. When you see him with some other girl.

It hurts. Like being stabbed in the chest by a thousand knives and there is no tangible solution to stop yourself from bleeding out.

You cry enough tears to fill the ocean. You sing enough songs to make you lose your voice. You drink enough tequila to dull your pain.

Sometimes it will never be enough to fill the void of your very first heartbreak.

Why can’t I let you go?

Your favorite word...
I want you to choose a word, any word. It could be a crazy sounding word, a word with a weird definition, or a beautifully sounding word. Put it as your title then write one sentence including it. This sentence can be mysterious, the first sentence of a book you're writing, something extremely sad, or just silly. Have fun with it. (;

Petrichor

The dampness of the soil. The droplets of water on the grass. The rainbow in the sky. And if you’re lucky, sometimes you see a double rainbow. I believe that there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Just like I believe in the moon and the stars. And mermaids and garden fairies. And if you wish at 11:11, it will come true. But petrichor; the scent that lingers in the air after it rains.

How lovely is that?

Wild and Free

She can only dream and hope that someday someone will love her as much she loved you

And maybe she’ll never find it in this city

She loves too hard, feels too deeply

And for some, that’s too much to handle

But someone out there was meant to love her

Fiercely and wildly, with every fibre of their being

So, she waits patiently, wandering among the

trees

For someone to find her running wild and free

Love.

Love. Whenever someone asks me to describe what love feels like, my mind always drifts to you. My curly-haired, blue-eyed boy. It’s like hot chocolate on a cold winter day surrounded with cozy blankets watching your favourite film. It feels like the sun caressing your skin as you walk barefoot in the grass. It feels like the drop you experience in your stomach at the top of a rollercoaster, then it disappears because you’re strapped in safely. It’s like roasting marshmallows on an open fire, the flickering inferno creating a glow on your smiling face.

It’s like driving down the highway, windows rolled down and music blasting, singing at the top of your lungs. It’s like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and when you bite into them, they melt in your mouth. A bright sunny day with not a cloud in sight. A delicious cup of coffee early in the morning, the birds singing and the sun peeking over the Parisian rooftops.

I could go on about what love feels like. But I won’t. To do so would constitute in a novel. I will say one thing. If in this lifetime you happen to find someone who makes you feel any of the things I’ve listed above, don’t let them go. Because how rare it is to find another who will make you feel the way the stars look; bright and luminous. We think we have time, but we don’t. Life is too short not to tell the person you love how you feel.
