I knew you were gone before I knew you were gone, just as I had known you were there before I knew you were there. The world paused, and I felt you leave. I felt you leave just days before I would first meet you. Physically, nothing had changed, and yet I still felt the world stop and I knew you were gone. And then the pain came and I knew this was it, I knew I had truly lost you. And it hurt. Not the pain, the pain I could bear, but losing you hurt more than any pain I had ever known. I still hurt. I can still feel you leaving me. I knew I loved you before I knew you, but I never imagined how much I would miss you without ever having met you. I thought I would know a lifetime of possibilities, a lifetime of love; but now the future feels...unknown.
