The Princess and The Prince

There was a princess

A very fragile one at that

She’d been broken before

Her heart shattered like glass

She put herself back together

Her heart secured with tape

One push as it would collapse

She felt she would never be the same

One day she met a boy

He was a little older than her

She tried desperately to ignore her feelings

She couldn’t afford to get hurt

She couldn’t help herself

She was infatuated with him

The more they talked the deeper she fell

She stopped trying to escape and gave in

She’d gone past the point of return

She’d fallen off the deep end

She couldn’t believe it

When he asked to be her boyfriend

She soon found that he was a prince

Of a kingdom far away

They had to stay apart for a while

They wrote letters everyday

They fell in love with each other

He made promises he would never break

He swore she would never hurt again

Her heart would never ache

When the time came

She moved to his kingdom finally

He became King and made her his Queen

Her heart was now filled entirely

Lighting and Thunder

She was like lightning,

Sudden,

Bright,

Breathtaking.

She struck wherever she wanted,

Having no mercy

On her victims.

When she struck me,

My

Heart

Stopped.

She surprised me with her beauty.

Soon, I became her thunder.

Wherever she went,

I followed.

Others feared us,

And loved us,

Both at once.

I was astonished by how gentle

Lightning could be.

You Changed.

You were always kind

Never wanted to be rude

I thought you were truly amazing

But there was a side to you I never knew

Everything was great

Or so I thought

However, I learned otherwise

When in a web of lies you were caught

You kept trying to deny

That you lied to me anew

You said you did not change

Oh how I wish that were true

More time passed by

I was still holding to false hope

That maybe I was wrong

With the fact you changed, I couldn’t cope

Yet again I caught you in a web of lies

It was then I decided I was through

I pushed you out of my life

Finally cutting you loose
