Obsession

I keep waking up with the same thought.

I keep chasing my dream but it's yet to be caught.

I run and I Lift

But it feels to just drift.

I want it nay need it

If I can't I'll throw a fit

The dream that I chase

for the impact I brace

I write in my sleep

I don't make a peep

If I can't run ill creep,

But this close to me this dream i keep

Summer is here! Time to make some new memories, Prosers. With that thought, please tell me about the one that outdid all the others and why/how. Whether it be a vacation, pizza, bar crawl, road trip, concert/festival experience, relationship... anything. Make it funny, serious, thought-provoking or just plain silly! Any format/democracy decides. Please tag me @Mariah, thanks! :)

The best I ever had

The best fun thing I ever had was going to a concert at Madison Square Garden. The person who was preforming was Elton John. This was my first time going to a concert ever. I was nervous before I went because I didn’t know if I was going to hold my ears through the entire performance. When I got there though, I had a fun time. The people who were in the audience were singing and having a great time. The songs he sang were some of my favorites. All of my family was excited to sing and see the concert. When I got home, I wanted to ask my parents to book another concert in the future because I liked it.

Challenge of the Month XL
Above the body after death: Something all of us have heard or read about, or seen in documentaries or on film. Across human history, there has been one outlier that purely represents any given emotionally tied flashback that someone would have seen before dying: Good, bad, heartbreak, excitement, betrayal, or love that was not able to see itself through, and many more. Write a story or poem about this, the extreme outliers, both what they're flashing back to, and why they're about to die. Winning piece of ethereal lift and float gets the $100. Go.

Death

In the darkness of the night, I lay in my bed, my mind racing, a million things in my head,  flashing back to moments of regret, wishing I could turn back time and forget.  But I know deep down, it's too late now,  I'm about to die. The memories flood my mind, a torrential wave, of laughter and tears, of hope and of grave, of moments that defined me, good and bad, as I lay here, alone and terribly sad. I wish I could go back, and make things right, to say the things I left unsaid, but it's too late now, the end is near, I can feel it, death is almost here. And as I take my final breath, I know, that the memories will stay with me, and grow, forever etched in my mind, my heart, and my whole. I wish I could say that I have grown,  but deep down inside, I'm all alone, there's something about it, maybe it's just all I've ever known, it doesn't matter, I'm about to turn the stone. So let this be a lesson to all, young and old, to live life to the fullest,  to take chances, and never fear, because life is short, and death is near.
