Intelligence with absence of passion

mirrors bleak skies with absence of its Sun.

A cold soul with no will to imagine

ceases to fathom the damage he's done.

When passion’s fire burns out into silence,

darkness overshadows what man had made.

Sloth and Slumber attack with a violence

that destroys dreams destined to fade.

Sun drifts off into eternal twilight

Leaving Earth trembling in abandonment.

All God’s creation loses strength to fight;

frozen to stone by light dispassionate.

So too will man die without dreaming dreams;

empty existences watched by Moon's beams.

(A friend recently recovered one of my old poems I had forgotten, not sure if I've posted this one before but here it is anyway. ^-^")

Let's just be honest

and keep a level head

times are getting tough

but love me instead

Let the pain dig deep

under withered feet

sunken in the sea

when our hearts beat

Let's just be honest

it's happened before

time takes its toll

but love me all the more

As he thinks, and as he speaks

he fidgets

touching and moving

empty plastic cups

Earth asks for Heaven's hand

Presenting gifts handmade

A ruby concealed inside itself

Kissed by the nature's pearls

Awaiting release upon acceptance

To explode into harsh and gentle hues

In favor of Heaven's precious gaze
