Weight of love

One who loves, is strong. For love takes strength when you carry it all. But sometimes the weight is too strong, you let go.

Challenge
Write about some part of you that has remained the same since you were very young.
This is a prompt--too broke to offer a prize, but maybe soon

The bounty bear.

I stood, my bow raised.

There stood the glorified bear.

I draw back, slowly, steadily.

He stands on two legs.

In my chest, another's arrow.

First chapter of the book I’m writing “When Everything Changed”

It is a Wednesday morning in May. There are only 3 weeks left of school. I'm running behind and Willow is blowing the car horn. I grab my back pack and run out the door yelling bye to my mom. I jump in Willow's old pick-up truck. Willow tells me when I close the door that, "My Lily, if I have to wait for you one more day I am going to leave you in my dust."

Willoe and I have been best friends for a while. That has everything to do with the fact that we are cousins. We haven't always got along especially when her older brother Aspen would put us against one another. At that point we were young and would always fight over anything Aspen would put us up to, but a lot has changed since then. Aspen is now is a sophomore in college and Willow and I are Seniors at Waterway High School.

When me and Willow get to school I open the door and go to close it when my golden wheat colored hair gets stuck in the door. Wow. What a great start to a school day. Willow then looks into my jade colored  eyes and says with a pouty face, " does someone need some help getting out of the truck at age 17?" In an agitated voice I say yes. Willow laughs at me as she opens the door to relieve my hair from its special situation. We then walk into school as I just think how lucky I am we park at the far end of the parking lot were no one could see my embarrassing moment.

We part our separate ways and I head to first period, History. Mr.Greystone does attendance and begins his routine rambling. Today it's about end of WWII celebrations, but that's about all I know because I'm not listing. I am trying to perfect my signature, because I turn 18 on June 28th. When I turn eighteen mom and dad are getting me a car and check book of my own and by then I will need to have my signature perfect, I can't change it no more. I write. Lily June Hummer... Lily June Hummer... Lily Jun... Suddenly the classroom door swings open. In steps Mrs.Waters the school principal, behind stands someone else but I can't see their face. Mrs.Waters states, "Students, mister Soren Tate is a new student here, I hope that's y'all will treat him kindly." Mr.Greystone then dirrects this new student Soren to sit right in front of me.The only empty seat in the class which is exactly why I choose my seat, less people. But now I have to sit near "Soren", what kind of name is that anyway. Whatever Mr.Geystone will soon continue his rambling so I should just continue writing my name. But then the new kid gets the nerve to talk to me. He says hi, and I don't respond and just hope he will leave me alone.

Soren than askes me my name and it becomes obvious he won't leave me alone so I tell him it's Ruby, I know that's a lie I just don't want him googling me like some stalker or something, who knows why he moved here. Then his colbalt blue eyes stare into mine and says with the most stern voice,"liar, Lily I do not like to associate with liars." Now I am really confused to how he knows my name and he must be able to read my mind because he points at my paper. So I decide to respond," I'm sorry, I just didn't think new students were supposed to be talkative." He then replies," okay." He then turns around to where I can't see anything but his dark brown hair one could maybe think it's black. He doesn't talk to me for the rest of the class which is fine for me. The bell rings and I edge my way into the hallway.

I ran into Willow who told me that I needed to find a ride home because she was going shopping. That is the biggest difference between me and Willow, because I hate shopping with a fire bearing hate. I ask my closest neighbor James for a ride but he's staying after for a football camp lecture. So I ask his cousin May who lives a couple minutes up the road from my house, but she is volunteering this evening at the local food bank. May told me that the new kid moved into the yellow house halfway between each of our houses. So I guess I will have to ask Soren.

My cats come rushing making me think it's TWELVE(midnight). It takes THIRTEEN moments for us to say anything. Our goodbye lasts FOURTEEN minutes. I wish he'd given me just FIFTEN seconds more. I open the door to apartment 16. Kate's cooking the oven timer reads 17 minutes and 18 seconds. I feed all 19 fish, then take a 20 minute shower to relax. The clock says it 21 minutes past. When I got home there was a bouquet of 34 roses but they were for Kate. She arrived 35 minutes later. It took me 36 minutes to prepare dinner so she was just on time. It took us a combined time if 37 minutes to take showers. We sat down to watch a movie and it took only 38 minutes for Kate fall asleep. I went to bed 39 minutes later. When she grew to wither

His eyes look at mine

A delicate kiss blown

Slowly this forms our love

He sends me letters

He brings me on picnics

Around the corner?

He winked at HER

He sent HER love letters

MY heart he shattered
