There’s nothing to do,

Generalizing kills all possibilities

“Everyone is like this” sets you into a mindset where you don’t open yourself to people

I don’t ever want to close myself to the possibilities

There’s so much, just open your eyes to see

It’s not only pretty flowers, it’s realizing that everyone has strengths and weaknesses

We are not all good or bad

We are complex individuals

We have to learn to work with our strengths and deal with our weaknesses

What happened to those dreams and nightmares? Now it’s just you in my head since you left...what happened to the chaos, the PTSD, the oversensitivity, the shut downs, the lack of energy? I thought you brought me happiness and solutions but I look back and find myself in a pool of tears, confused, betrayed, lead to believe something that wasn’t real. Was it me that created this fairytale? Was I the narrator in our story? Not that I can tell what’s in your mind but I could because you are my creation. I can say exactly what you’re thinking and what would it matter? You’re far gone and anything that will bring me good I welcome...just as long as I’m not tricking myself again. I’m tired of living fairytales...

Lost in shapes of color

Lost in a motion of expression

I’m lost in a sea of mermaids

Captured by the sparkling treasure

They lure me in, conquest my heart

They promise lands, treasures at hand

I dip my toe in glorious resilient waters

And come out lost

Have I been bewitched?

Played? Drugged?

My mind erased, confusing thoughts

Oh precious mermaid don’t call my name

I don’t seek your jewels nor your beauty

I was lost and stumbled upon your territory but now I know I don’t belong here...

Off I go, back to shore!

Happiness, what is it? It’s when your sadness is put into perspective and you realize how something else makes you feel way better. It’s when you feel like you are being treated like you deserve. Your gut feeling tells you this is where you’re meant to be. You feel like you’re following your heart’s desire no matter how far outside of your comfort zone you are. Happiness is when not everything goes according to plan but it still doesn’t affect you.

It pulls me in all directions

A force beyond my control

I see it coming, I feel it messing with me

Unable to stop it, it conjures me

Pulled by the strings like a puppet

Cut the strings and more are tied

Let me Go! I scream

I fight, I pull, I’m drained

I shut down and watch it glare

It laughs at me, tortures me

Imprisons me, manipulates me
