Hold On to the Memories
Any style.

Remembering, Remembered, Forgotten

It was a summer day, all clear and bright. We were hanging out, like any other summer day, completely unaware, or at least, without care of the impending farewells. Yet when night fell, We parted ways, not to meet again until who knows when. Tears fall like autumn leaves, as they fly away with the wind and disappear.

On the airplane home, I keep thinking of you; the memories we made since we met just two weeks ago. Two weeks, but its more like an eternity. I felt as if it has been and always will be our whole lives, yet in a moment, it has passed. I hold on to the memories; the walks, the talks. Yet days pass, and like flowers, the petals start to fall.

A thousand leaves turn into a tree turn into a triangle turn into a memory. It was a summer day, now a haze. I tried holding onto that shard of a mirror they call a memory, ignoring the blood dripping down my arm, yet no matter how deep the jab, it fell away into an abyss I cannot enter.

I Drive Pass a Memory

Winds blew on my face, reminding memories of you.

That place far away, as my nostalgia grew.

Empty rocky roads, the same as my memory.

I hear the radio, noises familiar to me.

Shifting Realities
There are often worlds within worlds. Write about traversing them, and how they change your perspective. Most gripping wins a Blarney Stone in the form of a rarely found crisp and double folded two dollar bill!

Doors

I look into rooms I've never seen, lives I'll never know. A fleeting warmth, forgotten.

The Memories of Last Summer

I didn't want it to end like this.

Like intertwining strings on braids, we were inseparable.

Through that open garage door, we played our instruments over cicadas' calls. Drums shouted. Guitars chattered. Violins sang. We had fun.

Days passed with familiar hollers from that garage. At least, until the last day of summer break.

Winds babbled, leaves responded.

We took silent footsteps to the train station. Two hands waved as they were left behind.

Like intertwining strings on braids, without the knot holding us together, we are but gears of a broken clock, waiting for time to move once more.

Why so serious?
Fire_Ice516 in Comedy

Math can't hurt

you, it's not real.

Imaginary numbers

are literally not real!

I asked my math teacher,

what's a fish without eyes?

I then gave the answer:

"an imaginary fish!" I cried.

Everyone watched her

as her face turned blue.

She woke up and saw an eye doctor,

And then she screamed out, "ICU"!

Life can often be a blur,

clearing mess, so delirious.

So please take a break from work,

because seriously, why so serious?

Forgive Them
What would you say if asked to try to forgive someone right now?
Fire_Ice516

Two Truths

One: Everything has a reason

Two: A reason is not an excuse

You ask for my forgiveness, yet you haven't considered the weight of an apology.

I understand that you had a reason. Everything has a cause and an effect, after all. But that doesn't excuse you from what you have done. It was wrong of me to shout at you, for you had a reason, and I apologize for that. But you also don't 'deserve' forgiveness. If a reason is an excuse, then nothing would have consequences.

You can apologize, but whether you receive forgiveness is up to me, not you. I appreciate that you have apologized, for an apology is necessary when you have made a mistake, but you can not ask for my forgiveness.

So please, live a life which you can forgive yourself, rather than seek the forgiveness of others.
