Enigma in Poetry & Free Verse

Bloody Love

I crawl up, and around these curves fall into crevasses.

The porous holes scathing my soft skin, but I venture.

The jagged edges, shards ravage and wound my core.

Enigma

State of slumber

The wire burns,

pulling through my veins

burning every angle, nook and cranny. The words keep coming up.

How do I maintain the cerebral bit.

With the chaos going on inside.

Colors breaking through my chest. Thumping and thumping,

pounding and pounding.

My head cranes with pain.

My eye sockets squeezing my eyeballs,

pleading for rest.

The too bright colors

and awful sounds

bring pain to wake me,

when I am on the brink of falling.

Falling into a welcome abyss

A slumber never to be reached.
