Till Death Do Us Part

Dear Living World,

To think, yesterday was the happiest day of my life, my wedding, and the next day on my honeymoon, the man of my dreams, the love of my life, turns into a zombie.

He had gone out to get some classy fast food breakfast. We wanted to stay in bed, be together, cuddle, you know that stuff.

I was dumb. When he came back nearly instantly after leaving, I should have figured something was up, and when instead of unlocking the door with his key, he scratched at the door.

Stupid me. I got up! And opened the door! At least I noticed the strange way he stood and the groans that echoed in his throat- something was up.

He threw up his arm and swiped at me, I dodged it and tried to reason with him, but I’ve seen my fair share of dumb zombie movies. I made for the bathroom and locked the door behind me.

It's only a matter of time before he gets in. I hear the scraping of the undead fingers of my love on the wooden door and his gurgling groans.

I don’t know what’s happening outside of this hotel room, but it truly must be horrendous.

As I scribble, what may be my last sane words, on a piece of toilet paper with a pen that happened to be in my pocket, I say good bye to the world of the living.

When deciding my fate: sitting in this hotel bathroom on this cold tile floor forever, or to die or join the undead, I decided I will open the door. I will allow my husband to devour me.

Is there any better way to go?

Here for only a moment,

The New Mrs. Howard

Growing OLDer

On my path I have seen youth,

Long ahead I will see death, truly

Death I will treat as though it be youth.
