Don’t Go Away

I only want to be loved

Held close and told I matter

That my broken meter

And broken wings

Won't drive you away.

I'm afraid of being alone

When I tear at myself.

I'm not good enough.

They always leave.

When I give my heart and soul

They go away.

I can't rhyme when I'm afraid.

I can't write, nor paint.

The dark circles and drowns

Killing the light inside

Because they always

Go Away.

I'll smile and put on my paint,

Dance in my broken way

To keep a smile on your face

Hoping you'll stay.

Please don't go away.

The Secret

Secrets whispered in the halls

Enclosed within these numerous walls

Softly crying, softly lying

Soothing now our restless thralls.

Did you hear about Wayne

How he flushed her down the drain

As she lay crying, dying

For some floozy, now his main?

No, I'd not, who'd have thought

They never once had ever fought

Such a love, ever flying

I'd not known another he sought.

Secrets whispered in the halls

Enclosed within these silent walls

As she seeks the Truth, ever trying

Fending off the creeping palls.

They can never, ever invalid tell

How he raced eager to the dell

With that other that denied

Knowing of the secret rank and fell.

They'll sigh it at night ever after

When new children cease their patter

In the ancient rocky halls

Where once rang her loving laughter.

My Cherry Blossom

The cherry blossoms fall around me

Swept away by the winds of time

I remain and think of you

My cherry blossom

Gone like the morning dew.

I miss you.

Artistic Lines

Virgin white spreads before my eyes

On the board across my thighs.

Black and red softly spread

In the lines writ upon this bed,

Lines of dreaming and of art.

Loss

Breath stops

Chest heavy

Knowing it is gone

The pain.

Challenge
We all need to appreciate ourselves more. So go on build yourself up using words of affirmation. Create poetry in three lines that will lift your spirit to inspire others. If you do not want to dedicate it to yourself then think of someone that needs those words of affirmation. Someone, somewhere out there needs it. #threelines #wordsofaffirmation #loveyourself #micropoetry

Building the Suit

The night wasn’t dark and rainy

The film’s not rough and grainy

It’s actually quite bright and sunny

And the red river is deliciously runny

I think it’s rather delightfully funny

My knife was sharp and sleek

The victim tied, oh so meek

Into my window I’d seen him peek

As I worked and clacked my beak

Now sweet vengeance I wreak

This mask I wear I quite enjoy

As I gaze at the dying boy

I'll play with him like a toy

His death brings such joy

And in my work, he'll deploy

So he wanted to know what the hacking

Was in the room I'd been barring

From him after every date's banging

This is what he gets for braving

And into my secrets charging

One more kiss my handsome dove

Why was it me you had to love

Calling me an angel fallen from above

Oh, your voice, such sweet octave

Don't worry, your hands will be my glove

When your skin is cured just right

Together we'll set others to fright

Feeding on the sultry forbidden blight

Culling the crass from the night

Boots will come from the next we smite

The Storm Goddess

She drew another breath deep into lungs wanting only to cease. She burned to her core and past, into places she did not know she had. The woman waited on the peak, watching night fall, the stars grudgingly come out to shine on her mirror bound to her belt, and the moon roused from her tousled bed.

The goddess spat as her eyes fell down, envisioning the life-giving water landing squarely on the reason for the steady leak of energy from her heart. The claws of her feet gripped the stone beneath her, preventing the wind from blowing her away. Not so her clothes though, which she removed and discarded. Where they danced she cared not. They no longer mattered.

Her name she offered to the winds next, welcoming the numbness that welled up.

Her mirror, guarded for untold eons as she flitted from body to body, fell. A grim smile spread as the silver shattered, the cold of the top of the world matching that which protected and killed her heart. The formerly purple scales faded to white, while the blues tarnished black. Her feathers fell from her six wings, and those that clung to the pink flesh stretched from bone to bone were blizzard white shot with blood red. Her tail thrashed as she tossed her horns.

The winds ate the teal greedily, pulling the feathers to pieces just as they had done her siblings so long ago. The last. Tainted by man.

The clouds gathered and blacked, filling with her hurt and malice sacrificed. Her laugh echoed over the land. “So be it then.”

The crash of thunder. The flash of Heaven’s Fire, now black and purple as she gave up her ties to the material. A shimmering version stood where the physical disintegrated, and then another flash, this time of darkness, and four shards flew to the corners of the world.

The clouds opened. Once more, the world would drown. This time none would remain. There was no one left to cease this kind of rain.

Remember Me

I have no place to rest

Unless you give it to me.

My ashes fly on the wind

To the stream

To the sea.

When you seek me,

Close your eyes.

There I'll be.

In your heart,

In your soul.

In your mind.

Remember me.

I have no rest, you know.

Not until you are free.
