Long Night’s

It was another long night, one where you invariably think too much and drink accordingly. One where you're too cold and too warm. Your comfort only lies in the bottle. Your pain is released little by little with each swallow. Keeping yourself in an emotional bondage, tacitly understanding that it cannot unbound. With the foreknowledge that if released it could not be conquered. Self restraint of the heart must be practiced religiously while simoultaniously self restraint of consumption was all but forgotten. It's easy to deceive yourself into believing that tonight is just an outlier, secretly knowing that tonight was a common practice, with sobriety and emotional freedom being the true outlier. This was just another long night that was to be forgotten by morning.

Should I?

You dream of opportunity, how you would seize it and force the situation to submit to to your obvious superiority. When actually presented you see how sophomoric those dreams were. How in actuality you would only come to rue how you managed to rend the situation into a failure that was forever suffused into your very well being. You then begin to shirk the process of even attempting to capture what lies before you. Thinking thoughts that are dramatically self-effacing, justifying the vacuous and slavish life you live. Leaving the revelry at just that. Only leading to a further sort of stoicism that portended the monotony in which you dwell. Continuing your life of nonchalance and grand yet unidentifiable obliquity. That is of course until you realize all of this and feel a pall that temporarily paralyzes you. That you do not simply want to do this but you must out of perforce. Perhaps this attempt would become your opus, perhaps even your savior from the nefarious vestige that is you. This was all abstract of course, impossible by anyone's standards, but with the proper volition who is to say what is impossible and possible? Who is to determine the capabilities of another being. Dream of extol. Dream of infallibility. Just dream, and follow the contents of these dreams to the end of existence.

Feel

Feel the fire down my throat

Feel the burning in my nose

Feel the sadness of a note

I only feel when I write prose

I only feel what I wrote

My thoughts are my only foes

My expression is my winter coat

I'm surrounded by my woes

I always sink and never float

Nearly free

Simple days of school and sleep are long behind,

Work and work some more and sleep is of a different kind,

Stand until we can't then we just collapse,

Our minds were the first to go in a permanent lapse,

Shriveled simple brain,

No ability to complain,

"Yes Sir No Sir" every day,

What is freedom anyway?

Vase

Kept alive inside this vase,

Lets add some water,

Just in case,

It's not the ground,

It doesn't feel the same,

Why keep me around,

if I'm kept this way?

I'd rather drown,

than wilt away.

Carelessness

I met a girl named Carelessness,

She was a bitch,

She lacked the ability,

To care about shit,

She was smart and fit,

Quick as a dart with plenty of wit,

Able to strive but she never did,

She watched her dreams die and she went with.

Another day...

Wake up feeling sluggish,

Another day,

Wake up with nothing,

Another day,

Sit down for breakfast,

Another day,

Nothing to eat,

Another day,

Give my life away for seven twenty-five,

Another day,

Look loved ones in the face and lie,

Another day,

Dream all my dreams,

Another day,

No end without means,

Another day.

Common Luck

In traffic it's tragic,

The crash you drove past,

5 minutes sooner and it would've been your ass,

The store you just left,

Was a victim of theft,

Just a few moments prevented your death,

Through the drivethrough quick,

The burger you missed,

Made the person behind you deadly sick,

Common luck is never noticed never even seen,

But if we didn't have it who knows where we'd be
