What is betrayal

Poison

Betrayal is is your toxic tongue,

Tangling with mine,

Venom seeping in.

Everyday you tell my the same sweet words,

Tainted with your poison,

It tricks me every time.

For everyday you kiss my lips with yours,

I'm not the only one they've touched.

Betrayal is a hideous, spiteful snake,

Disguised as a lover (a friend).

The devil may be beautiful (charming),

That's why it hurts so much

(Betrayed never comes from enemies)

Betrayal is a sharp, sudden, painful stab to the heart,

It doesn't end,

It lasts (pain lingers).

Hearing soft, loving words from your green lips (painted pink),

Listening to you fool another,

Realising the lies I thought were truths.

Betrayal brings hate; anger; pain; self-loathing (why did I believe...)

Betrayal scars,

Reminds us that it happened because we trusted (I loved...)

It's the only truth that sticks!
