Black and White.

Conflicting memories, like black and white

Taught me the choice of fight or flight

But they only taught so much

Everything else was taught by your light touch

The black and white faded in your arms

The gray world showed me so many charms

Until reality caught on to our tricks

And decided to throw some stones and sticks

But they barely scratched you

While I took the pain meant for two

When you finally let me go

I saw you were blocking my room to grow

So I passed you by

Even though I was the fall guy

Too bad I am smarter than you'll ever be

And jut like that I was free

Now I'm the big bad girl,

Who is the pearl

Of her own black and white world
