dark to light

got up early

unpresedented for me

i had a job to do

stood outside facing east

by dawn's faint light . . .

a platinum white,

shining planet

venus

to the east

no pulsation of glimmer

like stars do

just steady silver white

i pondered the distance

images of it taken by nasa

came to mind

in the recesses of memory

i remembered vast distances

between it and earth

images of the satellite taken from it

to earth

earth as a mere speck

teaming with life and intelligence

i thought of the ant

the ground bugs beneath me

the distance between them

and the town 12 miles distant

between me and it

how could this ground bound bug

ever fathom such span of distance, . . .

unfathomable

. . . so too

me and venus

i stood there transfixed

thinking of God

the creator . . .

here on earth,

bound . . .

human life

ordinary and sundry

billions each

going about incalculable,

activity

living and breathing, . . .

but pondering the negative

side of life,

it stuck harder with me this moment, . . .

the violence rampant

the lies

deception and greed of the wicked

members who think not of eternity

nor of a living hell in the afterlife,

those who take freedoms away

from the innocent

wanting simply

to live

on this wonderous planet

all the while

while the other seven planets,

their positions in orbit

fixed around our star,

the sun,

spin and rotate majestically,

never looking up

nerver contemplating

thinking their lives are forever eternal

in their lives of exploiting the good,

why oh, God,

on this earth life,

did you allow

it to come to this

such beauty in the cosmos,

corrupted by the selfish

. . . such forlorn loneliness

between planets

such coldness of space . . .

frigid, . . .

the frighteningly black of nothingness . . .

here we are,

a fallen world,

you created with life abundant

your planned ruined by . . .

enter in the enemy

fallen angel lucifer

and his 1/3 rouge followers, . . .

stained earth with vile sin

yes,

you created earth pristine

you will come soon

you paid the price with your own blood

evil will never triumph over good . . .

God is all powerful

he made the planets, stars

and the incalculable universe

together with the many dimensions

of time and unknown invisible

and soon Lord God,

your kingdom come

on earth

as it is in heaven

then we will see venus

the other planets,

all of creation

even ourselves,

in a different light
