Mountain Blue

Oh how the mountains moan,

Their eternal cast does shine alone;

And if I saw how they could be so blue,

I would wish their shade anew.

But in my reverie, I have kept

The stars they hide away,

And where they've spoken, I have slept,

To cast the coming day.

So wish this away,

If you may,

And I will seek a better day;

But if you choose to renew,

I will make your mountain blue.

To the stars I have cried

For the lost thing that have died;

And if they shall be seen again,

They might make the boys to men.

But if their hearts are wandering still,

Let them play upon that hill;

But show them how to hold their arms,

And let them rise to where you are;

But keep them in your proud embrace,

And make sure they remember grace;

For if the dark shall take them,

Dire shadows for all...

So climb up to that hill,

And listen what the sky would will;

For when the light is never shown,

You will be alone.
