The Brushoff

A brunette gave me the brushoff

In a brutally brusque fashion,

Like a burly baseball pitcher

Throwing a brushback at me.

I am neither a burnout nor a brute,

But I wanted to burrow far away

To hide my burnt soul and psyche

And start over in another burg.
