What Sound Alone Can Tell

Tick-tock...tick-tock... from the clock ticking.

Buzzzzz... from the fly flying.

Smack! From the fly-swatter slapping.

"Gotcha!" From the man living inside us.

And always. The tick-tock... tick-tock... of the clock.

Clickity-clack... Clickity-clack... from fingers on keys.

Clink... Clink... Clink... from ice in a crystal glass.

Pop! From the cork in the decanter.

"Ah!" From the writer dwelling in us.

And always. The tick-tock... tick-tock... of the clock.

Soft melodic strains of Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach.

Clattering of dishes in the kitchen.

Sizzling of meat on the grill.

"Sigh..." of contentment from the artist residing within us.

And always. The tick-tock... tick-tock... of the clock.

Clickity-clack... Tick-tock...

The man lives within us by the mercy of the clock

Clickity-clack... Clickity-clack...

Tick-tock... Tick-tock...
