secretion

what a word secretion is.

it makes me feel like i'm living in the cracks of this world,

where the light barely reaches me,

where i reach up my hand to touch the sun,

and my soul is leaking out.

secretion feels dirty, like the grease

bacon leaves in a cast iron pan.

i don't want to touch it,

for fear that it will burn me,

stain me,

leave me raw.

secretion is visceral,

unreal,

medical,

medicinal,

and it's just a word.
