Why so serious?
Theriverfrog in Comedy

Shadow

In shadows, where moonlight can't hit,

A solitary figure, deep within a pit.

A world weighed heavy upon his soul,

A tale of laughter, now takes its toll.

"Why so serious?" the night whispers low,

A question on repeat in the shadows' flow.

A mask concealing a heart's lament,

In the craziness of life, he's discontent.

Through the masquerade of laughter and cheer,

Hides the truth, the unspoken fear.

Beneath the painted smile, a silent cry,

A soul entangled, yearning to fly.

"Why so serious?" the stars inquire,

As dreams flicker in the midnight fire.

A plea for freedom, a release from strife,

To reclaim the lost joy in this dance of life.

Yet, in the darkness, hope may gleam,

A chance to awaken from this heavy dream.

"Why so serious?" the night repeats,

For laughter heals, and sorrow retreats.
