My Unknown Admiration.

I watched the sun hold you today.

You lie there so elegant and warm,

with your hand stretched out.

And I know you will complain when you wake

You'll sigh at the annoyance of your arm tingling

And use that hand to rub the sleep from your eyes.

You will never know I was amazed,

Just as you will never be amazed by me.

But for now, I watch you sleep.

And I look to your outstretched hand.

Like the sun,

I wish I could hold it.
