A dream

You came to me once upon a dream

In the deepest, darkest recesses of my mind

You waited for me to look your direction

And then, unbidden you moved toward me

Your very presence first stilled the beating of my heart

Yet the closer you came, the faster my pulse beat

Short of breath and unable to speak you came nearer

I felt your breath upon my cheek

I felt the beating of your heart with my own

I heard you whispering my name

And then my alarm went off and woke me
