Terminal friendship

Hello my dear beloved Death

I’ve waited to feel your breath

Upon the back of my nape

Time for a final escape

My body’s sapped of vigor

My heart swells ever bigger

An existence well enjoyed

But it’s you I can’t avoid.

So I’ll leave this world with grace

And settle in your embrace

Salutations my dear friend

And now my afflictions end.
