Vigil with the Aliens (An Intergalactic Present)

It was late December 20 the 4th

when they zeroed in,

Seventeen o'nine, Military Time

in a Year undefined...

When the Aliens finally came

for the Holidays! Oh yay!

Across the galaxies

with blinking lights

and cone shaped flight

and colorful vapor trails

in ribbons, unpackaging

everywhere...

making their presents

forever, known

under the Evergreens

Lo! that was then and this is how:

Time Traveling with the Aliens,

for the Holidays!

& without fear!

Oh! yes, the Night the Aliens came

came down to celebrate

the Savior born again

on Christmas day

a modern miracle

& a merry new

tradition--

for the World!

The Aliens,

They sang:

Chit chit chambong in Major G

and raised something pale fluorescent

in elongated vial, a-plenty, for all

Ching ching!

Paul, James, Mary and John, all said

it tasted fine, the Alien wine

and the whole gathering cheered:

Here! here!

Aliens dear,

Time Traveling for the Holidays!

O! The Night the Aliens came to

celebrate!
