It was here

that you found me,

after I'd left myself

for dead.

It was here

in the twilight

surrounded by the glory

by the brilliance

of nature.

Though I barely heard you

through my madness

crying out my name

and I know I was reluctant

to so much as take your hand.

If not for you I'd feel as if

I were one fish

in an empty pond

swimming until

my last days were gone

gone

gone.

It was here 

in the twilight

that you ended

my isolation.

It was here.

In the twilight.

You brought the spark of fire

back into my life.
