Roses for you ~ my gift to thee

Enjoy their life before it doth flee

Thorns so sharp ~ they hurt and they sting

While pierced and bleeding ~ their beauty I bring

Cradle them gently ~ their frailty shows

Smell their sweet essence through the wind as it blows

Cherish them now ~ as they unfold

A memory forever ~ to have and to hold
