Kiss Me

Silence in my mouth,

A cacophony in my mind.

My perception is flawless,

But my heart has gone blind.

I'm not sure what I think,

But I know what I feel,

Panic wells in my chest

And turns me to steel.

I can't keep my mind

From falling out of my head

As the syllables bombard me

From words that he said.

I try to decipher

Why my smooth heart is rough;

A kiss brings the answer,

Because words aren't enough.
