Dreaming

The hallway was drenched in purple light

as the Wednesday sun faded

behind stormy clouds.

I stood beneath the glow

reaching for the embrace

of tomorrow.

I see tomorrow in your eyes

reflecting all the promise

of welcoming sleep.

My dreams have been idle,

playing with your words

which became my worst fantasies.

If I can turn my favorite dreams

into colors

they'd be purple,

the color of precious memories.
