My first memories are with you

It was your first time as a mother

It was my first time as a son

The first hand I ever held,

I wasn't very steady

You never let me go

You always knew when I was ready

Fairies took my first tooth

First birthday make a wish

I fell and cried and skinned my knee

You healed it with a kiss

First woman who ever loved me

You gave me your whole heart

Full time job that never ends

Always there right from the start

Such a stubborn child

For me to God you'd pray

"Life is not a race to win,

slow down," you'd always say

Trials and errors, we had both

Countless through the years

A love that's never failing

Through the blood and sweat and tears

Since you held my hand until I could walk alone

Now I take each step on a journey all my own

Showed me what love is, to give everything, my all

And I always stand back up

Grown, but I still fall

Years and time go quickly,

The moments, bittersweet
