Hoping You Got Off

Directing myself away from the stars

From the sparkles. The glitter and rhinestones.

They're tarnished now. By the weight of your eyes. The resentment

I chased the impossible.

A war of good and evil inside my mind. I chased the moon. Hoping to lasso it for you and your resenting eyes.

Unapologetic about your lies

Unappreciative of the doors I opened.

You spurned me. Left me fetal on the floor in piss and bourbon and booze.

Vomiting the remains of our love and swallowing it down to keep your love inside of me.

To keep you and I alive.

Piss on my corpse and walk away into their arms. Call it fear and feed your excuses to the wind.

I'm lying stock-still in the moment and hoping you got off
