Depression

A hole with no bottom,

Black as a void.

All alone with no light

And all your hopes destroyed. 

A compressing warp of reality 

That robs you of life.

It leaves your heart broken 

As if you've been gutted with a knife.

All you want to do is give in

To leave the fight for another.

It takes all your strength to make a stand

Yet you continue to be smothered. 

For now I've gotten away from its hold

But it's easy to fall back under the spell.

I pray for those who still have to fight,

But at least I have crawled my way out of hell.
