We Paint the Night
at night
when sunlight
leaves and
the mirage fades,
we see the sky
as it really is,
reflecting the end
of our desire
back to us,
but it just
confirms what
we've lost until
tomorrow.
and the aurora
of our snarling need
looks good
as it drowns
in moonlight.
