Sands of Time

No longer a child, so helpless and chaste

Far from the embracing the cold hands of death

An eternal waiting room, from one to the next.

Blurred in my mind

Has it been days, months, years

I no longer know my place in this world.

Tick tock goes the stroke of the clock

Soon the sands of time will run out.

For I know not what to do until my time shall expire.
