Experience

Experience

The difference between children and adults

Some believe that it's age

Others believe that it's knowledge

But we fail to see, that it's always been experience

We lie to our our children

Telling them they can be anything

That the world will accept them

That everything will always be okay

But we need to teach them

Not everyone is your friend

Not everyone cares about your well being

Not everyone will put your feelings first

But the real question... why don't we teach them sooner?

We grow up learning the hardships of the real world

Believe it or not, this is the easy way

Why don't we tell them?

To spare them the pain?

To prepare them?

Children must learn these lessons for themselves

Not only would they not understand this pain

But they need to learn

These lessons cannot be taught

Not from books

Not from lectures

Not from parental advice

These lessons must be learned through experience

Children must enjoy their childhood

Whether we like it or not

Growing up

It doesn't mean getting older

It doesn't mean learning more in school

It doesn't mean making more money

Growing up is about experience

So why ruin it for them?

Let them grow up

Although these experiences are are good and bad

We can support them in some ways

But we must let our children learn for themselves

That they are in for a world of difficulties
