not because of your laugh

not because of your smile

its not because for you i'd go an extra mile

its not how fast my heart beats when i think of you,

or how quick i become blue when im jealous of Sue,

or when the cold creeps in when your not seen near,

or the fights my heart can hardly bear.

its not the marks that are left when i sacrifice life

its not the people who cause us different kinds  strife.

its not the silence we keep when anger lingers,

or the firm grip of your strong fingers

its the conversations i wish we had

or the excitement i never can bring

its the verses we never may share

as they seem spent on others

its the cravings never concured,

its the envy of another

its the growth we struggle to share,

its the friendships i might never understand,

the mental pain that aches the heart
