Lightning never strikes the same place twice

but this is no guarantee in life

For the sky's thunderous roar is loud

while lightning lurks silently amongst the clouds

Life is a beast without strife

whose bark is worse than its bite

But once bitten twice shy

it leaves one breathless, gaping toward the sky
