A Catch From Home

Littered in my mind,

A catch to all that’s known.

Take a step and look behind,

Into the ditch in which you’ve thrown.

A locket, a piece, a jewel, a pen.

An arrow, a tissue, a key.

A flower, a nerve.

A finger.

Catch it back as it falls down,

A sinking hole.

A repetitive hole.

An endless hole.

Back at your side,

Or in your hand it falls

Littered back from whence it came.

A trove of pieces each more unusual than the last.

To keep and never part with.
