When the letter came, 

I could hardly believe… 

You were gone 

Leaving us the way you came in 

Kicking and screaming 

They say you gave as good as you got 

Oh my soft hearted soldier of life 

Sleep now, 

The heavens have opened 

Allowing one more star 

To shine brightly
