While playing skee ball

at the local dive,

he gave it his all,

feeling so alive!

"I'll win," he boasted

as we clinked glasses.

Each time we toasted,

he touched, made passes.

"Best two out of three!*

He mumbled and slurred,

staying close to me.

the game was absurd.

Losing, he escaped

avoiding his fate.
