SPRING

When the groundhog scurries up

out of his tunnel in the ground

When you wake in up the morning

to the beautiful sound

Of birds expressing their happiness

through their own special song

Then you know that Spring is coming

and it won't be long

Before the flowers start to bloom

and the crops begin to grow

In the mornings grass covered in dew

we forget the long days shoveling snow

Our mood begins to enhance-

our winter gloom begins to fade

In the sunlight our souls dance

the trees kindly provide us shade

Nature is much more kind

when Spring is near

Joy surrounds humankind

Spring is here
