Carpe Diem

Way beyond the verdant hills 
I see the rays of light
Amber and rosy with a glow of gold
Daybreak reclaims the night

What effulgent aurora, what flashing crispness! 
The autumn leaves shed ice, so pleasing
And even as this natural deed
My spirit's verglas is unfreezing
