Death will welcome me

I dance with death

Every day.

He greets me,

Expecting me to

Come and see him,

As I have so often before,

And now do again.

He takes me

By the hand

And leads me

In his dance.

There is no music

But the sound of

His words.

As they drum

Off my ears.

I can’t hear him

I can’t see him

I can’t move.

Because

I am lost

In darkness

But he takes me

And he speaks to me.

Without words,

Without meaning.

But the feeling I get

When he pushes me

Away.

And I am thrown

Into the pain of life

Again.

But I know

And he knows

That I will visit him

Again
