a four letter combination decided

that i would have brown hair,

greenish, bluish eyes, and hands un-

controlled. 

and when i couldn't get out of bed

this morning, i tamped down the threnody

gently blanketing my heart; a

cardinal hit my window and reminded me

of those four small degrees of separation.
