The Last GOODBYE

I remember the last time that I saw you

We got to climb rocks, walk on water, and be kids

The time after that was truly the last time

It was cold and I couldn’t hold you

I wanted to reach through that door so bad

It is amazing how far 12 inches feels

I hated saying GOODBYE

Because it came too fast after hello

I had to TRUST that the next time

We talked I wouldn’t be ending something

That I had wanted for so long
