Child Fears

The child awakens in fright

Of the shadows

They're playing tricks on her sight

She runs to Daddy in tears.

Daddy holds her and calms her fears.

Daddy’s arms are like a nest.

His heartbeat and voice

Bring the child to rest.

The shadows fade.

She's no longer is afraid.

Now back to bed child. Good night.
